According to this source: The American Medical Association says that texting while driving is bad.

With all deference to Daddy DevilWorks who is a physician, and an upstanding member of the AMA, I think we have to thank the AMA for their OBVIOUS COMMON-SENSE wisdom. (Dr. Obvious anyone?) Any thing else we should know about?
