The Memory Keeper's Daughter

I just finished reading an excellent book: The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards. I was really taken in by the second page with her writing style and the story that was about to unfold. The story begins in the mid-60's with a young woman and her physician husband. On a cold winter night she goes into labor and delivers a son and a daughter. The son is healthy, and the daughter has Down's Syndrome. In one regrettable instant, the doctor hands the baby girl to his nurse and asks her to take the girl to an institution. As for his wife, he tells her the baby has died. The story is a riveting tale of the ripples we create and the walls we erect as a result of the secrets we keep. I would highly recommend!
